Afghanistan

         Afghanistan is place with rich culture and has a variety of ethnic groups. The most popular languages in Afghanistan are Dari and Pashto, with Turkmen and Uzbek as the most popular minor languages. The most practiced religion in Afghanistan is Islam. About 84% of Muslims in Afghanistan are Sunnites and about 15% are Shiites.
          
Afghanistan has a lot of popular holidays like: Ashura which is the 10th day of the month Muharram, Nau Roz which is New Years festival,  Mawleed al Nabi which is the birthday of the prophet Muhammad, they also have Labor Day, Independence day, and Ramadan which is the Holy Month for Muslims. 

Music genres in Afghanistan are basically traditional folk songs, ballads and dances. Instruments used in Afghanistan are basically stringed instruments like the rohab, which is an ancestor of the violin and cello.

A very popular dance in Afghanistan is known as Attan which is a very joyous dance in which involves people dancing and people drumming to a rhythm. 

Art in Afghanistan consist of the art of book illumination, illustration, bronze, stone, and wood. 

Afghanistan is also know for its Persian-style woven rugs. 

The most popular foods in Afghanistan are the Qabli Pulao which is steamed rice with raisin and carrots and a side of lamb. Other popular foods are the Kabab, Qorma, Mantu and Shorma.
